Filipo Pacini

The Italian anatomist Filipo Pacini (1812-1883) is today remembered for this discovery and almost nothing else. Even that legacy has to be shared; these are sometimes called "Vater-Pacini corpuscles" to include one Abraham Vater (1684-1751), an anatomist and a botanist.

P.S. Don't get him confused with the operatic composer Puccini....ha, ha!
