OBJECTIVES FOR THIS EXERCISE: After completing the laboratory exercises on the integumentary system, you should be able to:

Identify the microscopically visible features of skin, specifically its layers and their components.
Identify the accessory skin structures such as: a) sweat glands; b) sebaceous glands; c) arrector pili muscles; and d) hair and hair follicles.
Identify blood vessels and peripheral nervous system structures in the skin.
Identify the parts of a hair follicle.
