Sir William Osler


The great Canadian-American physician Sir William Osler (1849-1919) once referred to the menstrual flow as "...the tears of a disappointed uterus." Osler was known for his sharp wit and was a bit of a wag. He also remarked that "The desire to take medicine is one of the principal differences between Man and the animals."
