Louis A. Ranvier

Louis A. Ranvier, 1835-1922, was a French physician and pathologist. He described other structures and features in the nervous system, but this is the one he's best known for.Why so few Frenchmen have anatomical eponyms is a mystery, but perhaps it has something to do with the domination of the field by Germans for so long.
